This box was designed for a high school senior project about bass for home theater. Passive radiator extends low frequency response dramatically, allows you to "tune" the mass of the "air" in the imaginary "ports" by adding weight to the PR's. Since the PR's have mass, they also strongly influence the building's structure, causing the entire room to shake with low bass, further influencing low frequency extension, and creating a rather scary situation where the whole house shakes. UNFORTUNITELY, this box suffered from an INCURABLE rattle in the base, even 3/4" all thread with huge nuts and washers going from the base to the middle crossbraces, wouldn't stop it. I was aided in construction by a furniture construction wood shop that my family is friends of the owner - Woodworker insisted tacks and minimal wood glue were sufficient, I knew otherwise and should have been more assertive. I have since emptied the box, and thrown it off a 3rd story balcony onto concrete where it split into 4 pieces.
